This week I am not so much sharing with you my ideas of Taoism, as I am sharing with you a blog in which another blogger shares his thoughts about Taoism. The first post I read on this blog site is comparing thoughts that come from the nature- inspired writer Ralph Waldo Emerson with ideas from the Tao Te Ching which seem surprisingly similar.
There is also a post about practicing Tai Chi around the cat, which, as a cat lover, I also like. Here are some of the thoughts from this post, about why the cat is so interested to watch a person practicing Tai Chi:
“Perhaps watching the slow, flowing movements of Tai Chi is fascinating to cats, as watching a fish gliding through water would be. Or maybe she enjoys the novelty of seeing a human being neither rushing about doing errands, nor lying asleep, but rather moving through space slowly, deliberately, mindfully. Or maybe she recognizes something feline, something of herself in the movements. I remember my wife commenting a long time ago that our cat is the embodiment of Tai Chi, that every movement she makes looks like Tai Chi—slow, graceful, relaxed.”
